Look up—way up. That’s where we’re headed. Where I-beams float effortlessly high overhead, carefully guided into place by powerful machinery. Where steel and glass converge in a colossal design that appears to almost touch the sky. These magnificent structures were elaborately designed and intricately built. Yet they all began the same way—with concrete and cranes, rivets and rebar, bulldozers and backhoes; and most importantly, a solid foundation. This summer, kids will grab their hard hats and head out to the construction site to discover that skyscrapers aren’t the only things that need a rock solid foundation.

During VBS, kids will discover that Jesus’ love provides a foundation that will last. When the storms of life come, they’ll need the One who will be with them to the end of the age. When anxiety sets in, they’ll need the assurance that true worth comes from being a child of God, not from what other people think about them. When they feel unworthy, they can remember that Jesus loved them enough to die for them. They’ll learn to be wise builders who continue in what they’ve learned and firmly believe. And they will discover that He who began a good work will be faithful to carry it on to completion.

We’re all a work in progress. Life is a hard hat zone. But just wait ‘til you see what God will do!

For students that just completed 5th Grade – Our Middle School Minister will lead them in a week of fun, food, games, and Bible Study. They will need to be dropped off & picked up at the Middle School Building each day.

+ Should I register my child for the grade they just completed, or the grade they will be entering in the fall?

Please register your child for the grade level they will have completed this school year.

+ What should my child wear?

We have a great time at VBS & sometimes we get a little messy. We recommend that your child wears clothes that can get a little dirty & comfortable tennis shoes each day.

+ Safety

The safety of your children is extremely important to us. It is mandatory that every adult volunteer goes through a thorough background check. Additionally, our safety team works along side a uniformed Forsyth Country Police officer.

+ Allergies/Health:

Please make sure to include ALL allergy and special medical information when you register. We have an amazing team of nurses on site every day to take care of any issues that arise. We also alert your child’s teacher to any health or allergy concerns so they are able to give proper care.

+ Check In/Out Procedures:

Everyone will receive their specific classroom assignment card in the mail the week prior to VBS. Please be sure to bring this with you upon check-in. Greeters will be available to assist you. You can also come to the registration desk at any time & we’re always happy to answer any you have.

  • Check In:
    • We ask that each day you park and walk your child to their assigned area.
    • Our 5 years olds will be dropped off downstairs on the first floor in Auditorium 1. Each row will be marked with a classroom sign.
    • Grades K-4th will be dropped off in the main sanctuary. Each row will be marked with a classroom sign & someone will also be holding a sign in the air to make it easier for you to find.
    • 5th Graders will be dropped off & picked up at the Middle School Building each day.
  • Check Out:
    • Each child (from 5 year olds to 4th grade) will be picked up each day in their classroom.
    • When you register your child online, you will be asked for the names of up to 5 people who have permission to pick up your child. Our teachers will have this list & will only release your child to names listed. Please be prepared to show a photo ID at time of pick up.
    • For early pick up, please come to the Registration Table in the main lobby. We will be happy to work with you to retrieve your child from their current activity and bring them to you. Again, please be prepared to show a photo ID and make sure the person picking up was listed during registration.

+ Will my child be fed a snack at VBS?

We provide a yummy snack for the children every day. However, we cannot guarantee that all snacks will be nut/soy/dairy free or free of food dyes. If any of these are an issue for your child, you are welcome to bring in your own snack. Please place in a clear, ziplock bag clearly labeled with your child’s name & give it to the teacher at drop off.

Your child’s care and well-being is extremely important to us. Therefore, if your child has a food allergy that requires an epi pen if around the allergen or ingested, you MUST bring in your own snack. You can bring in daily, or drop off all 5 days’ worth at the beginning of the week.

+ Do you have Family Program at the end of the week?

This year we are excited to announce a change to our Family Program! Our program will be at 11:30am on Friday, June 12. You will get to see your child on stage singing amazing VBS songs, view a slideshow with pictures highlighting the week, and hear ALL about the wonderful week your child has had. We ask that that you stay in your seat, at the end of the program, while all of the children return to their classroom where you can safely pick them up. Immediately following the program we will have a FREE picnic on the lawn behind the church. We hope you’ll join us for some food, fun and fellowship!
